Knee High by the Fourth of July

Knee High by the Fourth of July is an expression used by corn farmers here in the Midwest. It means that if your corn reaches at least to the knees it got off to a good start and a decent crop can be expected. The accuracy of the expression depends on when it was planted and what type of corn it is.
Our corn at home and the Hartville Community Garden has passed the test! Only slightly hail ravaged from last night’s storm.
