Three more ridiculously talented artists stories today!
Our customers love picking one of Christa’s wire rings to go with their new clothing. They are popular gifts for teens, sisters, and moms.
I grew up in Hartville and work as an art teacher at Summit Christian School. I am inspired by almost everything. I have always enjoyed making things and doing art and started making jewelry about 5 years ago. I also enjoy painting and drawing and teach painting classes for Wine and Canvas.
Sew Crazy Gramma Mary
Barb and Mary go way back. They grew up next to each other and their mom’s were best of friends. Mary has been an essential part of the BBT mix and you can usually find her in the shop making us all laugh on Saturday mornings. Keep an eye out for her customer favorite rice buddies, hot and cold pocket buddies, make-up brush rolls, and bowl covers.
Family comes first! I’m the wife of Bob (38 years), mother of Ryan, Josh, Mandy, and Nick, AND Gramma of Natalia, Gabriel, Ella, and Emilia. I spend my days employed as a TA Special Education for Springfield Local Schools for 23 years and have lived in Springfield Twp. my entire life (except for two crazy weeks in Iowa).
My mom loved to sew/craft and I learned that love from her. Together we created my wedding dress and veil. Some of my most treasured memories are of our times crafting together. At this point in my life, sewing/crafting is stress relief for me. (My husband is EXTREMELY patient with me and my ‘projects’!!) Pinterest is an addiction that has inspired me with MANY gift ideas for my amazing family and wonderful friends!
You’re wondering how I got the name Sew Crazy Gramma Mary? I think the name speaks for itself (especially if you know me)!!
We carry Sew Appealing’s shopping bag holders, baby bibs, burp cloths, and nursing covers and recently added toddler bib! We are most impressed with the quality of Kara’s items. Her prints are lovely and are go to’s for baby and wedding shower gifts.
I am a stay-at-home mom to 3 great kids. I have a degree in marketing and I was an Apparel Buyer for a Department Store chain prior to having children and I love using my knowledge of fabrics, designers and quality to enhance the items I now create. I started my business in October 2008 to make a better bib for my 8 month old, who was learning how to eat baby food, and my brand new niece, who drooled… a lot!!
I love to create items for customers that truly solve a problem! Some of my favorite comments include:
- “I can’t believe my toddler can’t pull the bibs off!”
- “My little boy likes his toddler bib so much he turns it around after eating and wears it as a super hero cape.”
- “That bib and burp cloth set were the HIT of the baby shower, you are my go-to place for baby shower gifts!”
- “I need more of those little bibs, it is so nice not to change her bib every 15 minutes because it is soaking through on her shirt.”
- “Your stuff is so durable, I have been using and washing the bib I bought at this craft show, a year ago, and it still looks practically new.”
I also love working from my home on my own schedule, after 9pm seems to be my most productive time! I am inspired by beautiful and unique fabrics and customer’s reactions when they find the perfect thing.
