We had a great time at today’s scarf tying class!  The lovely ladies who visited the shop learned 21 of our favorite ways to tie a scarf and spent the afternoon laughing and snacking.

We set up a hot chocolate bar and in honor of National Popcorn Day served chocolate covered popcorn!

For the Hot Chocolate Bar:

– Powdered cocoa mix
– Carafe of hot water
– Whipped cream and/or marshmallows
– Toppings: sprinkles, sea salt, caramel syrup, crushed candy canes, peppermint drops, butterscotch chips, toffee, mini chocolate chips, raspberry chips

Add a sign for ratios depending on the cup sizes you use: Ours was 1 Heaping Spoonful of Cocoa + 1 Pump of Hot Water (in an 8oz cup)

Hot Chocolate Bar 2
– Serving bowls, spoons, napkins, cups, and stirrers (Grandma would be delighted her bowls were being used for so much fun!)
– We made flags for some of the harder to ID ingredients with paper and taped them to the neck of the spoons.

Sea Salt and Caramel Sauce over Whipped Cream!

For the popcorn:

We had some cones pre-filled and a big bowl with a scoop for seconds!

Pop the corn then lay out on a jelly roll pan (cookie sheet with sides). Lightly salt the popcorn then add dried cranberries, raisins, peanuts, and almond slivers. Using a spoon drizzle melting chocolate over the popcorn/fruit/nuts. Allow to cool then scoop into cones (we folded ours out of white kraft paper).
