Today’s Wedding March Local Business Spotlight is on Captured by Kelly Photography.
Barb and I met Kelly a few years ago through the shop. Hers is one of my favorite Facebook pages to stalk. I absolutely adore her style!
I mean really, how sweet is this!?
For our Wedding March series I asked her to share more about herself and give our brides some tips on selecting a photographer.
Tell us a little more about yourself.
I am a wedding and lifestyle photographer in the Northeast Ohio area. I love telling stories with my camera lens. I love Starbucks, vintage furniture and spontaneous games of freeze tag. I love people. I’d love to meet with you!
How would you describe your style?
My style is casual, artistic and modern and my goal at your wedding is to capture every moment of your day, especially the emotions and the moments that are not posed and staged by me. I do my best to embrace your vision and make it my own.
What advice do you have for a couple trying to select a photographer?
- Have a very strong idea of what you want before you even contact a photographer. Are you looking for someone who will stand back and take a photojournalistic approach or do you prefer more formal and traditional posing?
- Check out their portfolio. Do you like what you see? A photography degree means nothing if you don’t like what they produce.
- When you meet with the photographer make sure you can connect with them. That connection can mean the difference between average and amazing photographs.
- If a photographer’s price seems too high, don’t count them out immediately. Many photographers are willing to work within a couple’s budget and customize packages. Your wedding photography will be passed down to future generations and last far longer than your cake, flowers and centerpieces. Don’t go cheap in this area!
